Meet our Coaches!
Josh Lang
Head Coach
coach@swimmcsc.com
Since 2001, I've been passionate about coaching swimming, cultivating swimmers from beginners to high-level competitors. My journey began with 11 years as a competitive swimmer with the Albertville Swim Team, followed by seven years as its Head Coach. In 2014, I founded MCSC, building on my experience with the Boaz Barracudas.
I've had the privilege of guiding numerous swimmers who have excelled at the collegiate level and have seen several of my former athletes become successful coaches, including Colby Franklin, Liza Kate Edwards, Isabella Johnson, and Jack Whitmire. My coaching philosophy emphasizes both technical skill development and fostering a love for the sport.
My commitment to safety and professional development is reflected in my certifications as a lifeguard and through USA Swimming, AHSAA, NFHS, and ASCA. Outside of coaching, I share my passion for learning as the Director of Physical Sciences at Snead State, holding a Master’s in Chemistry and a PhD in Materials Science. As a father of three daughters who love to swim, I understand the importance of creating a positive and supportive environment for young athletes. I'm excited to work with your children and help them achieve their swimming goals.
